Would you like to be a part of something that’s never been done before? Would you like to see Central Kentucky’s most precious natural resource celebrated and used in a new way? If so, join us as we present the 1st Annual KR255, the endurance race of a lifetime along the Kentucky River. Imagine racing from the confluence of the forks of the Kentucky River in Beattyville to the Ohio River in Carrollton, just you and your boat battling against the elements for 255 miles!
This race promises to test the racers gumption from the first stroke in Beattyville to the last gasp in Carrollton. Participants can compete solo or as teams but are only allowed 100 hours to complete this breathtaking course. Paddlers will traverse the fourteen locks along the route; these locks will be used as checkpoints along the race with some serving as places to rest and refuel.
